Walden Happenings: Local Events You Won’t Want to Miss

Hello neighbors—Noah Martinez here with your snapshot of what’s going on in Walden today and what to keep on your radar in the weeks ahead. There’s lots happening, from seasonal festivals to regular community gatherings.

Happening Today

  • Library Game Nights — Check out Walden Public Library’s calendar for board games, tabletop sessions, or chess meetups. A great chance to connect and wind down the day.
  • Town Trustee Meeting — The Board of Trustees will convene at 5:30 PM at town hall to discuss local governance. These are open to the public and a good way to stay tuned in to decisions that affect our town.

Upcoming Events To Plan For

Moose Fest

Celebrate one of our favorite local legends: Moose Fest returns at State Forest State Park. Expect guided hikes, wildlife presentations, family-friendly moose activities, and the chance to learn more about the wildlife that defines Jackson County.

North Park Fair

Our community’s ranching roots will shine at the North Park Fair in early September. Look for 4-H and FFA livestock shows, livestock sales, pen shows, home arts displays, and more. It’s a time when our valley comes alive—with both work and celebration.

Other Community Gatherings

  • Fire Management and Water Restrictions Notices — Stage-two fire restrictions and level-4 water restrictions have been announced recently. If you’re planning outdoor or agricultural work, keep updated.
  • Scheduled Meetings & Agendas — Aside from the trustees, various local boards and the municipal court hold regular meetings; schedules and agendas are published in advance on the town’s website.

If you want help keeping up—send me an event, whether it’s music, dining, gatherings, or town hall—happy to include in future briefs. Almost all events have a social side; hope to see you out there!
